COMMUNITY
Live at York Museum Gardens is proud to have called York its home since 2024, and will return for its fourth year in 2027. We host a mix of music and comedy, with a focus on the local York market and its audiences.
As a local, independent business, Futuresound Group is committed to delivering high-quality events that bring value to the local area. We work closely with local businesses, suppliers and partners wherever possible, helping to support the wider York economy while creating memorable experiences for audiences.
The build of the events will commence on the 25th June 2027, with the dismantling phase scheduled to be complete by 15th July 2027.
Construction Phase 25th June - 1st July
Show weekend one 1st July - 4th July
Midweek no events 5th July - 8th July
Show weekend two 9th July - 11th July
Dismantle Phase 12th July - 15th July
Show times and soundcheck times will be shared on the community letter closer to the time. If you would like to receive this digitally, please sign up to our community address book below.
From 25th June to 15th July the main lawn in front of Yorkshire Museum will be cordoned off to keep a safe working space. On some days this will prevent access between the artist garden and the main gardens.
During the construction, we will ensure we maintain a commuter walk route from Museum Street to Marygate to minimise disruption to regular users. This route will be closed on show weekends. Please pay attention to signage during this time and do not enter into any construction areas.
During this time we thank you for your patience and understanding.
We value the feedback from our local community and host regular sessions as a platform to share any questions or concerns, as well as an opportunity for all to meet our team.
Each year we have three in-person meetings held at the Yorkshire Museum. Please check back here or sign-up to the community address book below for more information on the dates for 2027.
We have a community address book where we will share details of meetings and key information related to the show. If you would like to be added to this, please complete your details here, or email our team on ymg@futuresoundgroup.com.
We are also keen to talk to resident associations or businesses in order to distribute information to local residents. If you run an association, please contact us on ymg@futuresoundgroup.com.
You can contact your Community Liaison Team who will do their utmost to support and advise on any issues or concerns you may have. The team are reachable through the below:
The community team will aim to respond within five working days. On Event Days you can expect a response within 24 hours.
During the entire period of construction and live event, we will have a community hotline number where you are able to call a member of our community liaison team. The phone number will be published in the distributed letters, which are sent out to the community four weeks before the event.
The event reviews and renews plans every year to ensure safety of the customers and residents is paramount, and to reduce the impact on the local community. All audiences will depart the event using the Museum Street gates, and will be managed by security and traffic teams.
Since 2024 we have prioritised local suppliers, food traders and staff. If you have a company who would like to be involved in the event, please contact us.
We are proud to work with local charities for each event we deliver. In the past we have worked with:
York City Football Club Foundation
If you would like to suggest any local charities that we could support, please contact us at ymg@futuresoundgroup.com.

The event organisers aim to protect the Gardens as much as possible. We use temporary ground and grass coverings to help minimise the impact to the ground. We work closely with the Gardens landscaping team and York City Council to understand our impact on trees and planted areas, and the biodiversity in the space. Our plans include monitoring noise, limiting working hours, tracking ground conditions, and engaging any reseeding or works that need to be completed after the events.
On event days, sound checks are required ahead of opening the event to allow artists to prepare for their performance and to set appropriate artist specific noise levels. These will take place before the events open each morning, for no more than 90 minutes each time.
We appreciate your understanding during these periods. If you have any concerns regarding noise levels during any of the live events, please contact us where we will be able to arrange attendance of our noise management team to investigate and advise.
We work to a sustainability policy, and are always aiming to reduce the impact of our music festivals.
The event will offer no parking and will advertise this in advance to discourage those who want to attend by car.
Whilst we will have trucks entering and departing from the site to construct the event, we are working with the City of York Highways department to ensure impact on traffic is minimised.
On the event days, temporary traffic management will be in place to assist with reducing the impact on the local area.
This includes:
-
No waiting cones installed on Museum Street, around the entrance to Museum Gardens, to reduce the amount of stopping and dropping off / collecting.
-
Uber geo-fence to stop taxi drop-offs on Museum Street.
-
Assisted crossing of pedestrians on Museum Street at the end of the concerts each night.
-
Parking bay suspensions on Mary Gate to assist with traffic movements.
Experienced traffic teams will be positioned to assist with traffic and public movement during these times.
